Pierre Crevolin

Pierre Crevolin was selected as the recipient of the 2013 Founders Award for his long and distinguished history of commitment to the NACE Foundation.

Pierre’s service to the Foundation began as a board member in 2004, serving as the NACE Past President representative.  While this was Pierre’s first formal position on the Foundation board, he was instrumental in the transition of the NACE International Endowment Committee into a separate 501(c)3 legal entity, the NACE Foundation, in 2002.  Throughout Pierre’s presidency at NACE International in 2003-2004, he was vital to the early years of the Foundation, and his support helped create the building blocks for the Foundation as we know it today.

Following Pierre’s service on the Foundation board as Immediate Past President representative, he readily stepped into the position of Vice President of the Foundation in 2006 and held the position until 2008.  During Pierre’s tenure, the Foundation launched major fundraising activities, including raising $1.25 million to support the building of the NACE International Training Center.

In addition to his involvement with the NACE Foundation in the U.S., Pierre was a driving force in the formation of the NACE Foundation of Canada in 2006.  This organization’s mission aligns with that of its U.S. counterpart and was created to allow charitable donations by Canadian taxpayers.

Pierre has spent his entire career devoted to the corrosion industry.  While building several successful companies, Pierre has also been a role model in his service to the NACE Foundation.  He has been generous with his time and personal resources to help sustain the Foundation’s mission “to inspire the next generation of corrosion professionals”.

The Founders Award was created in 2005 to recognize exceptional contributions and meritorious work by an individual on behalf of the NACE Foundation.  To be meritorious, the work must be recognized as significantly influencing the education of students and educators in corrosion science and engineering.
